This page explains what information the website elham-yaghoubi.com and the Elingua app collect, why, and what rights you have. The website and app are operated by Elham Yaghoubi, an individual entrepreneur registered in the Republic of Armenia (registration no. 20374925).
1. Summary
- You do not need to register or log in to use the website or the app.
- We do not collect payments directly. In-app purchases are processed by Google Play.
- Your progress and points are stored on your own device. They are not sent to our servers.
- The microphone is used only for speaking practice (roleplay), and only when you press the microphone button.
- We do not currently use Google Analytics or any advertising or tracking tools.
2. Information we collect
Messages you send us. If you contact us by WhatsApp, Telegram or email, we use your message and contact details only to reply and to arrange lessons.
Comments on posts. If you leave a comment, your name, email address, comment text and IP address are stored in the website database so that we can moderate it. Your email address is never published.
Server logs. Like every web server, our hosting (Elementor Hosting) keeps IP addresses, browser details and visited pages for security and troubleshooting. These logs are normally deleted after about one month and are not used for any other purpose.
3. Your learning progress
XP, stamps, badges and lesson progress are stored only in your browser or app (localStorage). We never receive them. Clearing your browser or app data, or using the “Start over” option in the passport, erases them.
4. Microphone and voice
The microphone is used only in the roleplay and speaking-practice sections, on both the website and the app. Your browser or device records audio only after you press the microphone button and grant permission.
- We do not store or publish your voice recordings.
- In Google Chrome, the speech you say is sent to Google’s speech recognition service to convert it into text. This is handled by the browser and follows Google’s privacy policy.
- If a Turkish voice is not available on your device, the lesson text (only the words or sentences being read aloud, never personal data) is sent to Google’s text-to-speech service to create the audio.
- You can turn off microphone access at any time in your browser or device settings.
5. Cookies
- Language cookie: remembers whether you chose Persian or English.
- Comment cookie: only if you tick “save my details”, your name and email are saved for your next comment.
- We do not set advertising or tracking cookies for regular visitors.
- If we add analytics in the future, we will update this page first and tell you.
6. Sharing
We do not sell your information and do not share it with anyone, unless the law requires it. Links to Google Play, WhatsApp or Telegram take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.
7. Children
Elingua is educational and suitable for learners of all ages. We do not ask for personal information to use the website or app. Children under 13 should use the service with a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has shared personal information in a comment, contact us by email and we will remove it.
8. Your rights
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email elhamyaghoobi9@gmail.com. We normally reply within 30 days.
9. Security and changes
We use secure connections (HTTPS) and limit access to stored data. If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
